Friday 6th October 2017 saw the first Haptic Tech Roadshow, held at The Imperial War Museum, London, surrounded by exhibits from battles across the globe, we were joined with several of our strategic technology partners including Smoothwall, Veeam, iXsystems, Avocor, Lock n Charge and Ruckus and a mix of many of our existing customers and some new ones.
Haptic Networks Founder and Managing Director, Joe Aucott opened the event with the introductions and an overview of our vision and story of not how Haptic Networks began....but why.
Joe then handed over the stage to Rob Wilkinson, Head of Sales for Smoothwall, a web security solution that makes the internet a safer place for both Education and Business customers.
Next up was Michele Domanico, Senior Systems Engineer for Veeam, the backup, DR and data management software specialists. The presentation explained how Veeam can leverage both TrueNAS and FreeNAS Storage for all Backup and Restore operations. This tied in perfectly with our next guest speaker, David Valencia, Channel Sales Manager - iXsystems, who had travelled all the way from San Jose, California to talk about the special partnership Haptic Networks share with iXsystems, Server and Storage Solutions driven by opensource.
During the close out, guests were invited to participate in a Q&A session which provided great insight into what problems they were experiencing in their IT infrastructure and what plans they had to improve it. With the ever changing technology landscape and increased compliance issues, the sessions had provoked many questions and highlighted legitimate concerns not only in our guests professional areas but also in their wider networks.
But the event wasn’t just a 'sit down and listen' morning. Paul Bartrum of Avocor demonstrated their F6510 interactive screen with intelligent touch using InGlass technology, delivering extremely responsive and smooth touch experience. Perfect for group collaboration, the display supports 10 simultaneous touches and is five times more responsive than other touch technologies in the market.
Lock n Charge also displayed many of their products including Joey 30 Cart providing schools the ability to Charge, store, secure and transport up to 30 mobile devices, and The FUYL Tower, an intelligent charging station with 15 individually lockable compartments that can store and charge any mobile device.
Our very own Cloud Services Consultant- Darrell Raynard was also on hand and did a sterling job of showcasing the latest Chrome devices and explaining the huge benefits of Google's G Suite for Education.
Haptic Networks are top tier Ruckus Partners, and a large part of our portfolio is focused on wireless technology. So it made sense to ensure we demonstrated this to our guests using the Ruckus R510 802.11ac Wave 2 access point
By 2pm all of our guests and attending technology partners had been fed and watered and were free to explore the fascinating and thought provoking displays in this iconic landmark museum in the heart of London.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting this event, as well as spending time with everyone in attendance. We're planning an entire roster of dates, aiming to cover as much of the UK as possible across 2018. Feel free to contact us if you're interested in joining us at the next one.
